BEMC Talk – Harnessing the Power of Population-Based Data for Global Health Research
On Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 4:00 pm (CET), Maja Marcus of Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and Brigham and Women’s Hospital will deliver a hybrid talk entitled “Harnessing the Power of Population-Based Data for Global Health Research.”
The lecture will address how large-scale health datasets — from national surveys to multinational cohorts — can be harmonized and leveraged to answer urgent policy questions in global health. Highlighting the Global Health and Population Project on Access to Care for Cardiometabolic Diseases (HPACC), Dr. Marcus will explore both the challenges of working with diverse data sources and the transformative potential of integrated, policy-relevant datasets for advancing equitable and effective health policy.
📍 In-person: Lecture Hall 22 (formerly Hörsaal Innere Medizin), CCM, via Virchowweg 9 or Sauerbruchweg 2. Register here 💻 Online via Zoom:Register here
