The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) offers the English-language course “Infectious Disease Epidemiology”, providing participants with a theoretical and practical introduction to the aims and responsibilities of infectious disease epidemiology and its links to laboratory and clinical practice. 🔬 Through lectures and interactive exercises, participants will explore key topics including pathogen transmission dynamics, disease surveillance, prevention and control strategies, epidemiological research, study design, and statistical analysis. The course uses a range of infectious diseases—including sexually transmitted, vaccine-preventable, hospital-acquired, respiratory, and gastrointestinal infections—as practical examples. 🎓 The course is open free of charge to undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as guests.
