According to the Federal Intelligence Service (Bundesnachrichtendienst, BND), a laboratory accident in Wuhan is the most likely origin of the corona crises ( https://www.tagesschau.de/inland/bnd-corona-ursprung-wuhan-labor-bundesregierung-100.html). This insight is now also shared by other services ( https://www.theguardian.com/society/2025/jan/26/cia-now-backs-lab-leak-theory-to-explain-origins-of-covid-19) and numerous experts ( https://www.uni-hamburg.de/newsroom/presse/2021/pm8.html). If nothing else, it proves that a worldwide *ban* on so-called *gain-of-function* research should be given the highest *priority* on the agenda of the World Health Organization, which, according to its own statement, is "dedicated to the well-being of all people". What can the GHHG and the future German federal government do to make this happen? Günter Reiner
