    Our next community meeting will take place Friday, August 30th at 11am-12.30pm BST (12:00-13:30 Uhr Berlin/Bonn). It is my pleasure to invite all of you warmly for this very special community event, where we will welcome colleagues from Imperial College London!

    Our next community meeting will take place Friday, August 30th at 11am-12.30pm BST (12:00-13:30 Uhr Berlin/Bonn). It is my pleasure to invite all of you warmly for this very special community event, where we will welcome colleagues from Imperial College London!

    Jess Newberry Le Vay and her colleagues will share her insights on a fantastic global effort on Climate Change and Mental Health, the CONNECTING CLIMATE MINDS project: https://www.connectingclimateminds.org/

    "Connecting Climate Minds is working to foster connections between people all over the world to come together to understand and respond to the deep interconnections between climate change and mental health"

    We will start with insights from our own COMMUNITY PAPER which we created and published earlier this year, originating in a brief for the Federal Government: https://community.globalhealthhub.de/index.php/en/stream/item/2422

    We invited Jess and her colleagues to our meeting to:

    • identify overlapping interests and
    • opportunities for future collaboration.

The topic of climate change and mental health was also one of the main prioritiesCongratulations to this policy brief on this important issue! The topic of climate change and mental health was also one of the main priorities during my youth consultations ahead of the 77. WHA. As emphasized in your policy brief, young people are particularly vulnerable in this aspect. You highlight this critical point and underscore the urgent need for integrated strategies so that we can support young people to cope with and address climate-related mental health challenges. It is important to note that young people are not only disproportionately affected by these issues but also possess the potential to be leaders of change. Therefore, involving them in decision-making processes and equipping them with the necessary resources is essential. This empowers them to actively participate in climate action and mental health advocacy, fostering resilience and innovative solutions.  Mehr...
