It is a full-time, on-site programme for physicians who hold a medical degree (MD/MBBS or equivalent) from a medical school in any country and who are licensed to practise medicine in that country. Online participation is not possible. Registration is open until 31 January 2026.

  • The Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine is Germany's oldest institution of its kind, having been founded in 1900. The DTMH has been held here since 1905.
  • You will be taught by experienced scientific and clinical experts from all departments of the BNITM and from many external national and international institutions.

The Diploma Course will train physicians to work in countries of the tropics or subtropics. The course will enable participants to diagnose and treat diseases in travellers and migrants from the tropics and subtropics and to provide preventive medical travel-related advice.

The course focuses on the aetiology, epidemiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis and treatment of tropical diseases and clinical work in low-resource settings. It also covers travel medicine and principles of global health.

The 6th National Congress on Gender Health will take place on May 19, 2026, in Berlin at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences, bringing together experts to explore the growing importance of gender-specific approaches in healthcare. 🧬🏥

Organized by the Institute for Gender Health in collaboration with the iX Institute for Health System Development, the congress highlights how gender medicine has evolved from a niche topic into a key element of research, public debate, and health policy. 📊

This year’s focus is on prevention, examining how gender-specific factors can improve health outcomes, unlock efficiencies, and strengthen care delivery. Participants can expect expert talks, interactive workshops, and panel discussions featuring stakeholders from healthcare, policy, and research. 💡

Key topics include gender differences in prevention, the role of AI and digitalization, aging and gender, and innovative approaches to care. Workshops will also address issues such as autoimmune diseases, hormonal balance, and gender-based violence.

The event offers a full day of insights, exchange, and forward-looking discussion on shaping a more inclusive and effective healthcare system. 🤝
