As we approach the European Parliament elections on 6-9 June, it's important to reflect on the pivotal role these elections play in shaping the future of public health across Europe. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, health has rightly taken center stage in European politics, leading to significant developments in EU health policy, such as the European Health Union, Europe's Beating Cancer Plan and the European Health Data Space.
As we look ahead to the next mandate of the European Parliament, it's vital that candidates prioritize health and commit to keeping it at the top of the political agenda. We need leaders who will champion ambitious EU health policies, ensure equal access to healthcare for all and promote resilient and equitable health systems across the continent.
The EPHC has identified 5 key priorities that it believes should be on the agenda, which you can read in full by clicking the link below. As we look to the future of public health in Europe, we want to hear from you! What do you think are the most pressing health challenges and what actions do you think European leaders should prioritize to address them?
