DESCRIPTION:On March 18–19, 2025, Akkon University of Human Sciences will host the 17th Scientific Symposium on the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day. Organized by the Institute for Research in International Assistance (IRIA), the symposium will focus on the role of tuberculosis in the context of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and explore current challenges and solutions.\nInternational experts from academia, politics, healthcare, and NGOs will discuss the latest developments in TB research, diagnostics, treatment, and prevention. In addition to keynote lectures and panel discussions, the event will serve as a platform for interdisciplinary exchange on tackling multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR/XDR-TB).\nThe symposium will be held in a hybrid format – on-site at Akkon University and online via Zoom.
